MNOA Scholarships

 

Policy

The MNOA, in partnership with the California Casualty Insurance Company, awards two college scholarships annually in the amount of $500. 

Applicant's must be MNOA members in good standing or a spouse, child or grandchild of the member.  When possible, one scholarship will be awarded to each of the two regions (East, West). In the event of a lack of qualified applicants, both scholarships may be awarded to the same region.

The scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the President, MNOA Executive Board.  The deadline for applications for scholarships will be September 30, 2013.  Factors considered in scholarship recipient selection are: Academic Major, Academic Achievement, School and/or Community Involvement, Special Achievements and Financial Need.

Procedure:

1.    Applicants must print out and complete the application form and submit it to the MNOA by the announced deadline on the form.

2.    Applicants must submit a one-page typewritten paper explaining why they should be selected for the scholarship award. This paper should elaborate on interests, achievements etc. outlining the factors to be considered as mentioned above.

3.    Applicants must submit their most recent transcript of academic records.
